The essence of the project

Knowledge triangle – the driving force of INNOVATION DEVELOPMENT.

We know that any modern society today can rapidly progress without the active development of

education, research and innovation activities in humanity.

The economic potential of the state is determined not so much natural resources and cheap labor,

and intellectual nation that has modern innovative technologies. Training centers of intellectual

potential of any society are higher education institutions (HEIs). Universities are the main

participants and organizers of education, research and innovative technologies. (Fig. 1).

An urgent need today for any university is the concentration of research resources to address

these important components. For this, the higher education formed a temporary creative teams

of employees of different departments not only the university but also research and scientific

and technological centers and parks. This is the main feature of the modern university. (Fig. 2).

An important feature of the modern institution of higher education is, in addition to theoretical

fundamental training of students, their involvement in research practice. In the future it will be

easier to adapt to the demands of the competitive job market. This should be the main motivation

for any graduate high school. (Fig. 3)

Involvement of all undergraduate and graduate students for research and development should

be a prerequisite for the learning process to create scientific and technological capabilities of

modern graduates. Participation of students in scientific and technological process, as part of

the educational process, can prepare modern personnel capable of innovating and solving

non-standard tasks.

The results of scientific research and new technologies is a reliable and modern training base

for the creation of educational programs and graduate students, as prepared by the experts of

these programs can successfully address the issue of introduction and development of new

technologies at a high professional level in any field. Consequently, the role of higher education

institutions in the creation and development of innovative technologies.

Modern education should be based on the latest knowledge, research and development, which

will enable to form a knowledge-based knowledge base for theoretical and practical training of

students and graduate students. (Fig. 4).

Thus, the modern university activities will cover all elements so called “knowledge triangle”

(education, research and innovation), as a result increase the efficiency of each component

of “triangle”. This, in turn, lead not only to a new quality of education, but also to the substantial

progress of economic potential and well-being of society. For the effective functioning of

these three components necessary large-scale investments in the modernization of

education and research that will result in the formation of a qualitatively new innovation

society. Formation of such a society is possible through the merger of three components

together. (Fig. 5).

Only a close integration of the above three factors: education, research and innovation

potential there are conditions for a progressive innovative society. It is important that

partnerships between universities, government organizations and private companies are

constantly growing. This cooperation with “knowledge triangle” makes it possible to

efficiently develop multifaceted relations between science, industry and society. An

important factor is the innovative development and cooperation Ukrainian universities

with world universities, which is essential for expanding mutual business partnership in

major strategic projects, research programs, which is always topical issue of attracting

qualified graduates and talented scientists.

The analysis in Ukraine showed that in education, research and innovation needed to

develop new methodological approaches and specific recommendations should especially

focus on the following issues:

  • the amount of public and private investment in research and education;
  • single policy and a systematic approach to the development component “knowledge triangle”

that will provide an opportunity to develop joint activities to further develop this important area;

  • the complexity of the implementation of the results of research and development in

government and commercial projects through existing legislation of Ukraine;

  • integration of all components of the “knowledge triangle”;
  • the level of innovation in research in higher education;
  • lack of university autonomy, which does not allow them develop its economic and scientific-

technical potential, which results in insufficient activation of diverse relationships, both within

the state and from other states;

  • lack of active cooperation with the international community in the field higher education,

research and innovation.

Thus, as the analysis, mutual integration and synergy of higher education, innovation and

research can effectively implement the concept of “knowledge triangle”, the interaction of

all its components – research organizations, universities, ministries of education and business

representatives – companies focused on technology transfer. Through this triad, universities

and businesses provide their competitiveness and promote the industrialization of the economy,

based on embedded generation and transfer of knowledge.
